Bartlett Regional Hospital is hiring an Administrative Assistant to support its Nursing Administration team. The role may be filled at one of three levels, with duties and autonomy increasing by level. Administrative Assistant 1 provides entry-level clerical and scheduling support in a clinical setting, learns hospital systems, assists with basic administrative tasks, and supports front-office operations under close supervision. Administrative Assistant 2 performs a broad range of independent administrative and clerical duties across hospital departments, supporting patient intake, records management, interdepartmental communication, and scheduling while following procedures and privacy regulations. Administrative Assistant 3 serves as a senior administrative resource, coordinating clinical operations, insurance pre-authorizations, data accuracy, and patient workflows. This level works with substantial autonomy, contributes to training and quality control, and supports multi-departmental integration, including cross-functional scheduling, billing interfaces, and department liaison work. Pay depends on the hire’s level and placement. Internal hires’ placement and pay are determined by applicable rules or union contract terms; external hires’ placement and pay are based on relevant experience. Starting rates are $21.59 per hour for Administrative Assistant 1, $23.63 per hour for Administrative Assistant 2, and $24.81 per hour for Administrative Assistant 3. All new employees must produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska before starting employment.
