About The Position
In the heart of The Dalles, Oregon, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has served the Columbia River Gorge community since 1901. We are comprised of a 49-bed hospital, various medical offices, home health, a birthing center and a vast scope of services located throughout The Dalles and the surrounding areas. The Dalles is known for its picturesque views of the Columbia River, local charm and delicious downtown restaurants and bakeries. There is something for everyone in this scenic community. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides personal nursing care to the patient under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). This role involves performing tasks associated with activities of daily living, including self-care needs, and routine assigned tasks. The CNA is responsible for reporting patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS

- High School Education/GED or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints and restorative care.
- Takes vital signs including, pulse and blood pressure.
- Helps patients with their basic needs, i.e., bathing, dressing and feeding.
- Performs a variety clerical duties, which include but are not limited to routing patient reports as appropriate. Uses organizational skills to keep unit running smoothly and uses prioritization skills to meet deadlines as indicated. Provides assessment data to certified nurse within the scope of practice (vital signs, patient verbal and nonverbal responses, etc.).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
