Certified Nursing Assistant
About The Position
Covenant Living is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide daily direct care to residents in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. The role supports the organization’s purpose of creating joy and peace of mind for residents and their families in a supportive, faith-based community. The position reports directly to the nurse manager and may also take direction from licensed nurses on duty or other supervisory staff. CNAs assist residents with basic personal care and may also help with activities, light housekeeping, laundry, and dining services. Employees may be cross-trained in Assisted Living.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant program in the State and passing the required test.
- Listed on the State’s Health Nursing Assistant Registry.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to residents on a daily basis.
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, toileting, grooming, feeding, and transportation or transfers, according to procedures and daily assignment.
- Maintain residents’ rooms in a clean and orderly manner, including light housekeeping, changing linens, making beds, putting away clothing and personal effects, tidying bedside tables, shelves and closets, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Assist with resident laundry, ensuring clothing is marked, clean, mended, ironed, and put away; notify a supervisor of clothing needs.
- Prepare residents for meals, assist with serving meals, and feed residents as needed.
- Assist with activities and dining services.
