About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related area is preferred.
• Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) certification required within one year.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required within one year.
• Clinical background in critical care and/or burn care required.
• Additional experience and requirements may apply based on assigned medical clinics or practices.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related area.
• At least two years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Burn Program’s four-tier performance improvement program in collaboration with the medical director, burn program manager, and burn nurse manager.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, investigate gaps and contributing factors, collaborate with stakeholders on action plans, and monitor selected interventions for effectiveness.
• Assist with burn care outreach and training for partner institutions, providers, community groups, fire departments, and EMS providers.
• Provide feedback to EMS agencies and referring physicians or facilities regarding burn patient outcomes and quality-of-care issues.
• Represent the Burn Program at community events and local and national meetings.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with relevant disciplines and departments to support patient outcomes and a professional practice environment.
• Coordinate burn survivor programs, events, and services, and maintain the burn survivor database.
• Maintain relationships with burn foundations and facilitate patient and program assistance as needed.
• Partner with medical staff, rehabilitation, and burn unit nursing leadership to develop goals and initiatives that improve communication, education, patient safety, and patient satisfaction.
• Coordinate assessment and analysis of burn patient care policies, protocols, educational materials, and practice management guidelines.
• Help coordinate the burn center’s Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) training program.
• Participate in strategic planning for the burn center in alignment with the organization’s mission.
• Coordinate or participate in new ventures to increase volume and expand relationships; collaborate with Business Development to strengthen relationships with outside organizations.
• Support the burn program manager in ensuring the burn center meets regulatory requirements for ABA verification and collaborate on review processes.
• Coordinate and maintain the burn registry, directly supervising and assisting the burn registrar to ensure accurate, timely data entry and reporting.
• Validate the accuracy and consistency of burn registry data reporting.
• Serve as a liaison and represent the program on hospital and community committees related to burn care.
• Contribute to research projects, analysis, and dissemination of findings as needed.
• Support the design, coordination, and supervision of burn prevention activities at community, state, and national levels.
