About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program resulting in a diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate degree.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, with the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient-care quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders; administer medications; start IVs; perform treatments, procedures, and special tests; and document treatment according to company policy and applicable regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs for care and responses to care rendered.
• Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
• Protect sensitive information by following need-to-know and minimum-necessary access principles and preventing unauthorized access or modification.
