About The Position

Harmony United Psychiatric Care, part of Harmony United Healthcare LLC, is a network of outpatient mental health clinics providing in-person and virtual services through a secure telehealth platform. Services include psychiatric and psychological evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy and counseling, and neuropsychological testing. The organization serves adults, adolescents, and children aged five and above, with individualized care delivered by a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient psychiatric care in Sarasota, Florida, as an independent contractor. The role includes evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, brief therapeutic interventions, patient and family education, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The contractor determines their working hours, with options for in-person and telehealth appointments, including the possibility of working 50% via telemedicine from the start. The position includes phone-only on-call coverage seven days every five to six months.

Requirements

At least two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or one year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plus three years as a Nurse Practitioner in any specialty.
Must be board-certified to practice.
Must have an active license in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
Provide medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions.
Administer long-acting injectable medications when necessary; this is an infrequent service in most clinics.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and therapeutic strategies.
Document services rendered in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Stay current with advancements in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development.
