Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/Outpatient Clinic/Independent Contractor/Port Charlotte
About The Position
Harmony United Psychiatric Care, part of Harmony United Healthcare LLC, is a network of outpatient mental health clinics providing in-person and virtual services through a secure telehealth platform. Services include psychiatric and psychological evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy and counseling, and neuropsychological testing. The organization’s clinicians care for adults, adolescents, and children aged five and above, with an emphasis on compassionate, respectful, individualized care. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient psychiatric care in Port Charlotte, Florida. The role is an independent contractor position with the flexibility to determine working hours. Offices are open Monday through Thursday for in-person and telehealth appointments; telemedicine availability is offered Friday through Sunday. The position may be 50% telemedicine from the start. Phone-only on-call coverage is required seven days every five to six months. Compensation is up to $130 per hour. Group malpractice insurance is provided, along with full administrative support and access to current EMR technology.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or one year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plus three years as a Nurse Practitioner in any specialty.
- Board certification required to practice.
- Active Florida license required.

- Experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
- Provide medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Administer long-acting injectable (LAI) medications when necessary; this service is infrequent in most clinics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and therapeutic strategies.
- Document services rendered in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development.
