Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/Outpatient Clinic/Independent Contractor/Port Charlotte
About The Position
Harmony United Psychiatric Care is part of Harmony United Healthcare LLC, a network of outpatient mental health clinics providing in-person and virtual services through a secure telehealth platform. Services include psychiatric and psychological evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy and counseling, and neuropsychological testing. The organization serves adults, adolescents, and children aged five and above, with an emphasis on compassionate, respectful, individualized care. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnosis, therapeutic interventions, medication management, and brief psychotherapy. The role is an independent contractor position in Port Charlotte, Florida. Contractors choose their working hours, with clinic appointments available Monday through Thursday, telemedicine availability Friday through Sunday, and an option to work 50% via telemedicine from the start. The role also includes phone-only on-call coverage seven days every five to six months.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or one year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner plus three years as a Nurse Practitioner in any specialty.
- Must be board-certified to practice.
- Must have an active license in the State of Florida.

- Work experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for patients with a variety of mental health conditions.
- Provide medication management and brief psychotherapeutic interventions.
- Administer Long-Acting Injectable (LAI) injections when necessary; this is an infrequent service in most clinics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families about mental health conditions and therapeutic strategies.
- Document services rendered in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development.
- Participate in phone-only on-call coverage seven days every five to six months.
