The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health, accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP), offers a collaborative learning environment for new graduates. The Banner Health New Nurse Experience (NNE) is a full-time Registered Nurse position designed to help new graduates transition to fully competent, professional nurses. Participants will refine nursing skills, enhance knowledge, and develop professional relationships. Successful candidates are placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities, such as the Labor & Delivery, High Risk Antepartum, OB Triage, OB OR’s & Postpartum Mother-Baby department at Banner Desert Medical Center, to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. The program offers multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities, with an expectation to stay on the NNE unit for at least 12 months for comprehensive training. New Grads must live within a reasonable commute distance of their hired facility. Most new nurses will work three 12-hour shifts, including weekend and holiday rotations. The Women’s Center at Banner Desert Medical Center is a level III facility providing professional and compassionate care to mothers and babies from any gestation birth until discharge, handling 300-350 deliveries per month. Services include 24-hour OB, MFM, and Anesthesia coverage, as well as Level 1 OB trauma services, with 14 LDR rooms, 24 Antepartum rooms, 3 surgical rooms, 4 recovery beds, and 9 triage evaluation beds.
