About The Position

Requirements

• Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Four years of professional nursing experience, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity and one additional year of professional nursing experience in a managerial or consultative capacity or providing consultation and educational services in a specialized field or program plus two additional years of professional nursing experience in an administrative capacity.
• A bachelor’s degree in nursing and three years of professional nursing experience, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity and one additional year of professional nursing experience in a managerial or consultative capacity or providing consultation and educational services in a specialized field or program plus two additional years of professional nursing experience in an administrative capacity.
• A master’s degree and two years of professional nursing experience in a supervisory capacity and one additional year of professional nursing experience in a managerial or consultative capacity or providing consultation and educational services in a specialized field or program plus two additional years of professional nursing experience in an administrative capacity.
• Must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
• Must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
• Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
• Applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.

Responsibilities

• Supervision and management of staff, program, and unit that provides direct health services.
• Broad management issues in planning, organizing, and integrating various functions for which responsibility is assigned.
• Directing assigned staff in meeting the goals and objectives of the program.
