About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Houston Cardiovascular Associates in Spring, TX. City Place in Spring is a rapidly growing, dynamic area with a mix of residential, retail, and commercial spaces. Spring offers a diverse socio-economic landscape with a high quality of life. Growing communities, such as Springwoods Village, are attracting families, creating high demand for healthcare. A great balance of suburban tranquility and urban accessibility. The area is positioned as a prime alternative to the saturated Woodlands market, with increasing demand for healthcare services.

Requirements

  • 1 year of medical front desk and customer service experience is required
  • 6 months of EMR experience is required. ECW or Athena preferred but not required
  • 6 months of obtaining prior authorization experience is required
  • Bilingual with a focus on Spanish fluency required.

Responsibilities

  • Answers phone calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Transfers calls according to procedure
  • Schedules appointments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Schedules appointments as directed by referring providers
  • Pages providers for hospital consults/call backs according to procedure
  • Confirming of appointments
  • Enters authorization information on patient account in computer
  • Cross trains on covering check in/out for other offices
  • May travel to cover other offices
  • Maintains information in a confidential manner
  • Performs related work as required
