About The Position

Oversees a program that provides 24/7 crisis response and stabilization services to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. With general direction, manages multiple clinical programs overseeing the clinical staff and operations in the region. Ensures that individuals and families receive the most effective, efficient, and culturally appropriate services. Collaborates with the Executive Director regarding agency-wide initiatives, annual priorities, and continuous quality improvement efforts. Oversees program design and budgeting to ensure compliance with fiscal and contract obligations of programs. Interfaces with external community partners, agencies, and county departments. Ensures that the daily operations run smoothly, operating within compliance and safety policies, standards, and regulations. May require special certifications in some counties and programs.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (MA/MS) in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling or related field
  • More than six years of experience, including: Three (3) years direct clinical experience, working in adult or child mental health, and an additional two (2) years of clinical supervisory experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience (two years of relevant experience equals one year of education)

Nice To Haves

  • May require special certifications in some counties and programs.
  • If program requires, employee must pass an initial physical abilities test (PATS) and be certified in crisis intervention techniques within the first 30 days and annually.
  • If employed at a Crisis Stabilization Unit, employee is required to perform and pass a Human Performance Evaluation Test at a designated company clinic.
  • May have unsupervised contact with children.
  • Requires full background check and TB Exam.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of programs, assesses strengths, and needs for improvement as it related to serving individuals that are a danger to themselves or others.
  • Develops and manages program budget. Assesses opportunities for program growth and potential funding resources.
  • Inspires and supports culture of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and facilitates Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) forums and teams as needed.
  • Trains and coordinates training for systems change, supporting learning partner, and training direct service staff in safe and effective crisis response protocols and risk assessments.
  • Facilitates the integration of best practices at all levels with agency programs and support teams.
  • Evaluates, assesses, and manages risk in the context of interfacing with individuals who are in an active acute mental health crisis.
  • Develops and negotiates program proposals.
  • Represents agency to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with community partners and payors.
  • Researches, reviews, implements, and monitors Evidence Based Practices (EBPs), best practice principles, structures, and clinical policy as it related to responding to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Participates in the development of outcome measures and analyzes outcomes for improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitates community and agency-based trainings
  • Participates in on call/after-hours manager rotations, which may include in person response.
  • Negotiates and monitors performance to program and outside agency contracts.
  • Manages and assures continuous development of Clinical Program Manager (CPMs) and direct reports skills and competencies.
  • Participates in Leadership Academy and curriculum development.
  • Applies legal and ethical standards in completion of work.
  • Participates in Crisis Continuum On Call Leadership rotation after hours and weekends.
  • Facilitates crisis response training to schools, law enforcement agencies and other community stakeholders.
