About The Position

St. Joseph's Center is looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team! The Maintenance Worker will play an important role in keeping our facilities safe and well-maintained to support our residents and staff. This position offers an opportunity to make a difference by supporting an organization dedicated to serving others. This position is full time 1st shift position. Occasionally employee may be asked to cover a 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shift. The position involves maintenance of buildings, grounds, and company vehicles as directed by a maintenance supervisor. As a Maintenance Worker, you’ll play an important role in keeping our buildings and grounds safe, clean, and well cared for so that children, adults, and families can receive the compassionate support they deserve. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school training
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or carpentry work
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently
  • Ability to stand for long periods and stay active throughout the day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform physical tasks as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and custodial duties across buildings and grounds
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations quickly and efficiently
  • Use and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and properly
  • Identify and report repair needs or safety concerns
  • Assist with skilled work such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC repairs
  • Help maintain building security, including checks of doors, windows, and grounds
  • Support cleanliness by handling trash removal and supply deliveries
  • Assist with boilers, generators, and other facility systems as needed
  • Work with outside vendors and help order supplies when needed
  • Attend trainings and work as part of a respectful, team-focused environment
