About The Position

WORK Inc., a nonprofit human service provider agency in Dorchester, is seeking an individual with a diagnosed disability to perform general maintenance duties at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. This role involves assisting in routine maintenance and repair tasks across various areas including plumbing, light electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and sheet rocking. The position requires the ability to respond to building emergencies during off-hours, such as snow removal and floods, which may occur during evenings and/or weekends. Applicants are subject to Federal Security background checks.

Requirements

  • Must have a diagnosed disability in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined by the AbilityOne Commission.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC is required.
  • Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the performance of routine maintenance and repair tasks in the areas of plumbing, light electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and sheet rocking.
  • Responding during “off hours” to building emergencies such as snow removal, floods etc., during evenings and/or weekends.
