About The Position

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth (THSW) is seeking qualified Certified Surgical Techs to join their team. This is a full-time weekend day shift position in the Surgery Department. THSW is a 222-bed full-service facility offering surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Serving Tarrant County residents since 1987, the hospital has 1,100 employees, 120 volunteers, and over 600 physicians. It is a Pathway to Excellence® designated hospital, a UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine specialty center, and has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the AARC. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent (required if employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009)
  • Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or completion of a military training program in surgical technology
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) certification
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly)
  • A high degree of confidentiality
  • Positive interpersonal skills
  • Acceptable grooming practices
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience (required for CST with military training program path) or prior employment as a surgical technologist before September 1, 2009 (for specific CST paths)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year current operating room experience
  • Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology (preferred path)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Robotic procedures including Urologic, Gynecologic, and General Surgery
  • Assist in 10 OR suites providing services in Orthopedic, Ortho/Spine, Podiatry, Plastics, Vascular, Gynecology, Urology and General Surgery
