About The Position
MGC is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join as an independent contractor overseeing the end-to-end movement of inbound and outbound product across our supply chain — from international ocean freight and customs clearance through warehousing, retail distribution, and returns. This role is critical to ensuring our FDA-regulated products move efficiently, compliantly, and on schedule to our retail partners.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or import/export management, ideally with consumer products or FDA-regulated goods
- Strong knowledge of international shipping (ocean freight, bills of lading, customs clearance processes)
- Experience working with major retail partners' logistics and compliance requirements (routing guides, EDI, chargeback resolution)
- Familiarity with FDA import requirements for OTC drugs, cosmetics, or related regulated products a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort working directly with brokers, carriers, and retail logistics teams to resolve discrepancies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Business Central experience a plus) and standard office/logistics software
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities
- Manage inbound international shipments (ocean and air freight), including coordination with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
- Track shipments end-to-end and proactively resolve issues such as customs holds, documentation discrepancies, or piece-count/quantity variances
- Own relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and brokers; negotiate rates and service terms
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements and FDA import regulations for regulated health products
- Coordinate with retail partners on routing guides, EDI/ASN requirements, and delivery compliance to avoid chargebacks/debit memos
- Manage warehouse inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and coordination with 3PL/fulfillment partners
- Analyze and resolve retail logistics chargebacks and debit memos
- Maintain and improve SOPs for import/export, warehousing, and distribution logistics
- Prepare regular reporting on shipment status, on-time performance, and logistics costs for leadership
