About The Position

Cassity Jones Building Materials in Tyler is seeking a highly organized and skilled Logistic Manager to oversee the logistics and warehouse operations of its lumberyard. The role focuses on optimizing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring timely delivery of lumber products to customers. The Logistic Manager leads drivers and warehouse staff, coordinates transportation and warehouse activities, manages vendor and stakeholder relationships, and provides performance updates to the Operations Manager and General Manager. The position reports directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

Proven experience in logistics, transportation, and warehouse management; experience in the lumber or construction industry is preferred.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency with logistics and inventory-management software.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Class A or B CDL license.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and optimize transportation routes for timely delivery of lumber products.
Manage a fleet of drivers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficient use of resources.
Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to streamline logistics operations.
Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping lumber products.
Implement and enforce inventory-management practices to maintain accurate stock control.
Work with the warehouse team to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Lead, motivate, and develop drivers and warehouse staff.
Conduct training sessions to improve the skills and knowledge of logistics and warehouse teams.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive, collaborative work culture.
Generate and analyze logistics and warehouse performance reports.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and warehouse activities.
Provide regular updates and insights to the Operations Manager and General Manager.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other supply-chain stakeholders.
Negotiate and review contracts to secure favorable terms for the lumberyard.
