Loader Operator/Water Truck Driver - Castle Rock

About The Position

Schmidt Construction, part of the Levy Group of Companies, is seeking a Loader Operator/Water Truck Driver to work at their Castle Rock, CO location. The Loader Operator/Water Truck Driver is responsible for operating a loader to load and unload trucks, supply raw materials to bins and hoppers, and manage stockpiles. Additionally, the role involves operating a water truck to perform dust suppression in accordance with customer requirements and environmental regulations. The Levy Group of Companies is a 100-year-old family-owned company that transforms recycled products into construction materials, lightweight aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, agricultural products, and more. They also provide steel mill services, flame cutting and treatment, road building, logistics, laboratory testing, and a variety of other solutions for their customers. Requirements

  • CDL Class A license with air brakes and tanker endorsement required
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating loader and/or water truck
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to operate a water truck
  • Ability to lift to 50lbs
  • Basic Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate via radio and ability to read and write
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and work outside for extended periods of time and lift 50 pounds
  • Ability work at elevated heights and have good eye-hand coordination

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance, including greasing, oiling, fueling, and cleaning
  • Operates loader to load/unload trucks, maintain stockpiles, and supply bins and hoppers with raw materials
  • Operates water truck for dust suppression, including filling tank and washing roads and work areas
  • Monitors equipment performance and reports malfunctions
  • Assists maintenance personnel with repairs as needed
  • Maintains clean and safe work areas and equipment
  • Ensures proper material loading, weight compliance, and prevents contamination
  • Maintains communication with dispatch and team members
  • Supports emergency washout or cleanup as needed
  • Complies with all safety regulations and customer requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
