About The Position

Requirements

• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related area is required; five years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux is required.
• Demonstrated experience managing DNS performance and reliability.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining local and group policies.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory domain controller servers.
• Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with teams and external partners.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, self-directed approach and ability to work independently.
• Analytical thinking and demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong organization skills and ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance are required; selected candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and are subject to a government security investigation.
• Candidates without a currently held approved operating system certification must obtain one within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Five years of related system administration experience is preferred.
• CompTIA Linux+, LPI Linux Essentials, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or another relevant operating system certification is highly desired.
• Experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) is preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows PowerShell is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure and configure Linux operating systems.
• Manage vulnerability assessments using ACAS and Evaluate STIG, and produce accreditation artifacts to support ATO compliance.
• Maintain VMware ESXi hypervisors, including patching and hardening host systems.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, compliance checks, reporting, and other routine administrative tasks using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Apply monthly RHEL updates.
• Refine processes to align with policy and reduce overhead, collaborating with DevOps and security teams on automation practices.
• Release hardened RHEL system templates quarterly with required documentation and ATO submissions.
• Monitor Linux and ESXi environments for performance, availability, and security issues.
• Support RMF compliance, including FISMA, NIST 800-53, and DoD SRG requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation in Confluence and track tasks using Jira Software.
• Operate and maintain SolarWinds monitoring and auditing tools to detect anomalies and maintain system integrity.
• Manage DNS performance and reliability.
• Implement and maintain local and group policies.
• Manage Microsoft Active Directory domain controller servers for authentication, authorization, and network resources.
• Analyze logs aggregated from multiple sources.
