About The Position

The Cancer Outcomes Research and Education department is seeking a Registered Nurse Research Interventionist to facilitate the delivery of a Supportive Care research intervention. The interventionist will lead a virtual supportive care program for patients with Triple-negative breast cancer who are transitioning to surveillance. Responsibilities include leading small‑group sessions focused on psychoeducation, coping with fear of cancer recurrence, stress management, mindfulness, and basic cognitive‑behavioral strategies, in accordance with the study protocol.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred.
  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License] required.
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required.
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in oncology, psychosocial care, or group‑based interventions is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting the plan of medical care.
  • Assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care.
  • Assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner.
  • Providing individualized nursing care.
  • Evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
  • Administering medications to patients and monitoring patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Recording patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitoring, recording, and reporting symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modifying patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Leading small‑group sessions focused on psychoeducation, coping with fear of cancer recurrence, stress management, mindfulness, and basic cognitive‑behavioral strategies, in accordance with the study protocol.
