•$60,000 - $84,000

About The Position

The Interventionist Teacher works with small groups of students who have identified gaps of two or more years in Reading and/or Math, with the goal of closing those gaps by two years in one school year. The role supports students’ readiness to participate successfully in SST’s rigorous instruction and STEM for All initiative. It uses systematic, appropriately intensive assistance for students who are at risk of or already performing below grade- or age-level standards. Intervention teachers use universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research-based instruction and interventions for students who continue to have difficulty. The position is based at a campus, reports to the Principal, and follows normal work hours across 189 days. The role teaches Critical Student Intervention (CSI) groups and coordinates with general education teachers to support students’ academic needs. The teacher also plans and delivers instruction, monitors progress, communicates with students and families, supports classroom behavior and school culture, and participates in meetings, duties, tutoring, and professional learning.
