Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers globally. CESI, established in 2004, is a leading provider of modeling and simulation (M&S) training solutions to the Federal Government and industry. The company specializes in developing, maintaining, and integrating simulation-based training, serious gaming, technical services, and support within live, virtual, constructive, and gaming (LVCG) domains. Additionally, CESI designs, builds, and operates infrastructure, platforms, applications, and processes for cyber training, aiming to become a worldwide full-spectrum LVCG and cyber training/analysis developer, integrator, and services provider. The Intern position involves working with an experienced multi-disciplinary engineering team, including cybersecurity, software, DevOps, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers. The intern will contribute to the development, operations, and security of complex, distributed live training systems, gaining hands-on engineering tasks and participating in Agile system development using industry-standard tools like Jira and Confluence. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to production-level code across a diverse technology stack, encompassing mobile interfaces, backend services, and performance-critical systems, and to learn and apply technical tools and approaches to solve real-world technical problems.
