About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Principal Program Systems Integration Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. Due to security requirements, work is required to be on-site in a secure facility. SAIC is a sub-contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. The MSEIT effort provides leading edge SE&I for the Space Force’s Space System Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art MILSATCOM systems, providing secure global, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. You will join the Systems Integration team within the broader Systems Engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting U.S. Space Force (USSF) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM). You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. The Systems Integration Engineer will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. The Systems Integration Engineer will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risks, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes.

Requirements

  • Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) experience
  • Experience with satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components
  • Experience managing technical baselines among different stakeholders
  • Experience performing analysis of systems requirements
  • Experience with Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (e.g., Digital twins)
  • Experience working with Government and contractor personnel
  • Experience supporting major requirements reviews and design reviews
  • Experience leading and supporting Working Group meetings
  • Experience developing briefings, leading discussions, and writing minutes
  • Experience addressing/resolving risks, issues, and action items
  • Experience reviewing proposed changes to technical baselines
  • Experience defining and delivering alternative solutions
  • Experience managing schedule impact and product delivery
  • Experience facilitating review of contractor-developed program documents
  • Experience performing technical assessments and providing comments
  • Experience adjudicating comments with contractors
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues
  • Experience preparing briefings to program office personnel and stakeholders
  • Experience providing courses of action to support Government decisions
  • Experience supporting management of risks, issues, and interdependencies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integration strategies and processes to successfully integrate satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components; manage the technical baselines among different stakeholders
  • Perform analysis of the systems requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baseline
  • Apply Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (i.e. Digital twins) to support integration and test activities
  • Work with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps with customer requirements across the program; support major requirements reviews, design reviews, and other associated meetings
  • Lead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—by developing briefings, leading discussion, and writing minutes—to address/resolve risks, issues, and action items
  • Review proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concerns
  • Define and deliver alternative solutions to address different integration challenges; manage schedule impact and overall delivery of products
  • Facilitate review of contractor-developed program documents by performing technical assessments and providing comments, compiling other review team comments, and working with contractors to adjudicate the comments.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force program office personnel and other stakeholders; provide courses of actions to support Government decisions
  • Support management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions
