About The Position
Freire Schools is a network of four charter schools in Philadelphia and Delaware dedicated to preparing students from underserved communities for college and beyond. The High School Math Teacher position is for Freire Charter School Wilmington (8th-12th Grade), which focuses on both high school and college graduation. The school community is described as a family where students and teachers collaborate to build students' futures. The role involves implementing high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum to foster rigorous instruction, critical thinking, and high achievement, while being open to feedback and coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification
- Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a work ethic and collaborative spirit
- Minimum of two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations
Responsibilities

- Implement high-quality, content-specific curriculum and design instructional materials that promote deep thinking and problem-solving.
