About The Position
The EJP Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of Education Justice Project events at our campus offices and in the community. (The role does not support events held in prison.) This involves managing both virtual and in-person events and working closely with various teams within EJP. The Events Coordinator reports to EJP’s office manager. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to ensure the success of EJP events.
Requirements
- Experience in event planning and coordination.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple aspects of event planning.
Nice To Haves
- Event planning experience on the UIUC campus
- Communications experience
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
Responsibilities
- Lead regular event planning meetings between relevant EJP teams, e.g. event hosts, social media team, graphic design team, and operations teams.
- Handle event logistics, e.g. set up online registration forms, monitor calendar entries, help set up tables and displays where needed, oversee clean up.
- Be available during the actual event to support the event host as needed and as available.
- Ensure that event materials are on hand in the EJP offices and ready to use.
- Collect and analyze feedback from event participants to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain event documentation, including the EJP events tracker, and ensure all materials are archived appropriately for future use.
