About The Position

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing, leading, or mentoring customer-facing technical teams (e.g., Customer Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering).
• Strong background in web security, networking protocols (DNS, routing, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise SaaS architecture.
• Proven track record of success in a revenue-aligned or quota-carrying organization, with deep familiarity with SaaS metrics, enterprise sales cycles, and value realization strategies.
• Experience using telemetry, data, and health metrics to manage team performance, mitigate churn risks, and drive account expansion.
• Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with a proven ability to interface with C-level stakeholders and translate complex technical topics into business value.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with or deep understanding of Cloudflare’s Developer Platform, specifically Workers AI, AI Gateway, and Vectorize.
• Familiarity with leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or modern automated workflows to optimize team productivity and operational efficiency.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) to better guide your team in edge computing and API integration discussions.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Customer Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and strategic customer advisory.
• Partner directly with Regional Sales Leadership to align technical resources with high-impact pipeline opportunities, ensure seamless technical execution (PoCs, architectural reviews), and drive revenue growth across both new acquisition and account expansion targets.
• Oversee the technical health, onboarding, and long-term platform adoption of your team’s account portfolio, serving as a point of escalation for complex architectural challenges or customer risk factors.
• Track and manage team performance against variable quotas, SaaS adoption metrics, and time-to-value milestones, ensuring your CEs effectively connect Cloudflare’s capabilities to executive business ROI.
• Champion the integration of internal AI tools and automated workflows across your team to reduce administrative friction (e.g., automated RFPs, sandbox provisioning), empowering CEs to maximize time spent on high-value customer engagements.
• Serve as the strategic bridge between your field team and Cloudflare’s Product, Engineering, and Customer Success organizations to advocate for customer feature requests, share competitive intelligence, and refine market positioning.
