About The Position

The Engineering Manager of the Power System Optimization branch in the Digital Engineering directorate leads a multidisciplinary engineering team developing digital engineering and systems engineering capabilities for complex defense systems. The role provides technical strategy and guidance, advances how the U.S. Navy evaluates and acquires future maritime capabilities, and serves as principal investigator on a program requiring systems engineering subject matter expertise. The position is onsite in Columbia, South Carolina, and reports to the Digital Engineering Director. The manager leads and develops the team, maintains resources across the program lifecycle, and establishes systems engineering policies, workflows, and guidance. The role directs research and development of systems engineering tools, automation, model-based decision support, and digital engineering capabilities for Navy design and acquisition. Work spans use-case analysis, requirements allocation, trade studies, architecture, integration, verification and validation, digital twins, and test and evaluation. The manager also coordinates electrical, digital twin, and software engineers and works with project leads, academic partners, government sponsors, program managers, and the Digital Engineering Director. Business-development and capture support include customer meetings, concept development, RFI responses, white papers, technical proposals, program planning, and cost estimates.
