About The Position

We are seeking a ORION Optics\Metrology Engineer 2nd Shift at Kennedy Space Center, FL. AFSS brings a 14-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies. AFSS provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 2-4 years or more of experience.
  • Must have experience with SA Spatial analyzers, FARO Leica laser trackers and tooling.
  • Must have experience with precision laser alignment & laser tracking model functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision laser alignment & laser tracking model functions.
  • Performs a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of specific production units, developmental or prototype requirements in product development, manufacturing engineering or preproduction operations where documentation and guidance may be limited.
  • Works from schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
  • Uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials.
  • May perform modifications, rework, and quality testing.
