About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field and twelve years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with the entire development life cycle: analysis, design, construction, and implementation.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; NAIC is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Kubernetes and observability tooling.
• Background in developer experience or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with security and compliance practices integrated into developer workflows.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and evaluating their impact on productivity.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate business and technical requirements, recommend application designs, and estimate development effort.
• Develop, unit-test, and optimize scalable applications, delivering quality code within established timelines.
• Troubleshoot data and software issues, maintain technical documentation, and follow NAIC/NIPR version-control standards.
• Collaborate across the organization, provide status reports, participate in team meetings, and present project updates and technical topics.
• Provide excellent customer service, follow through on customer needs, and identify opportunities to improve satisfaction.
• Mentor less experienced staff, strengthen teamwork, and improve project delivery while supporting organizational goals and methodologies.
• Research emerging technologies, present recommendations, and support assigned division-wide technical initiatives.
