About The Position
The Journeyman Electrician, Facility Services, performs routine preventive maintenance and repairs to help ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. The role diagnoses electrical issues, conducts inspections, and completes repairs using multiple craft skills while following safety and regulatory standards. It also involves managing work orders, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining accurate documentation. The electrician supports emergency response efforts and participates in on-call rotations to address critical facility needs. The Facility Services team provides electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services that support business operations. Team members follow safety standards and industry best practices, communicate with clients, and collaborate to maintain a safe and reliable facility environment.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent in the state of work.
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state of work.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and facility equipment.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Skill using hand and power tools, hoists, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Strong documentation skills for maintenance activities, work orders, and warranty claims.
- Ability to manage maintenance schedules, coordinate contractors, and track parts and expenses.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergency maintenance needs.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program.
- Experience using intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues using blueprints, manuals, and appropriate tools.
- Document maintenance activities, repair work, and equipment conditions.
- Manage work orders and maintenance schedules, and coordinate with contractors to meet quality and safety standards.
- Respond to emergency calls and support issue resolution during on-call rotations.
- Operate and maintain vehicles and powered equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Follow OSHA, EPA, and company policies and maintain a safe work environment.
