About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant electrical design experience in the switchgear or power distribution industry.
• Proficiency in EPLAN or equivalent electrical CAD software; EPLAN is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to create detailed electrical schematics from client specifications.
• Experience producing and reviewing general arrangement drawings.
• Strong technical interpretation skills for specifications and tender documents.
• Good understanding of electrical component selection, sizing, and integration across LV switchgear product families.
• Familiarity with switchgear, switchboards, RPPs, and custom LV assemblies.
• Strong working knowledge of UL standards, NEC, and three-phase power requirements.
• Understanding of electrical protection principles and power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and design and safety standards including OSHA, NFPA 70E, ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word.
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to engineering.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills for working across design, production, and supplier teams.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently when required.

Nice To Haves

• Additional training in power systems or switchgear design.
• Experience with control logic, interlocking, and communication interfaces such as Modbus or Profinet.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret client specifications, one-line diagrams, tender documents, and project requirements.
• Design low-voltage switchgear and switchboard assemblies in accordance with applicable standards, including relevant UL standards.
• Develop detailed electrical schematic drawings using EPLAN or equivalent electrical CAD software.
• Prepare general arrangement drawings in coordination with the Mechanical Design team.
• Select and size ACBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, protection devices, and busbar systems.
• Perform fault-level and load calculations, cable sizing, busbar rating calculations, and thermal analyses.
• Ensure appropriate coordination and discrimination of protective devices.
• Design control logic, interlocking schemes, and communication interfaces such as Modbus and Profinet where required.
• Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials for electrical designs.
• Support factory acceptance testing procedures and prepare associated technical documentation.
• Maintain structured project documentation throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
• Verify and document compliance with applicable standards, client specifications, and internal quality procedures.
• Provide technical support to Production during panel assembly and wiring, resolving queries promptly and accurately.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding technical clarifications, component selection, and design feasibility.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Design, Project Management, and Production to align designs with functional, assembly, and project requirements.
