Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers in Southern Louisiana to perform electric utility design engineering for its utility customers. The role focuses on delivering high-quality design work and may include individual design tasks as well as quality-control efforts. Engineers develop work packages for overhead, underground, URD, make-ready, and street-light projects using customer GIS and work-management systems, and work with engineers and design leads to address client issues, schedules, and quality control. The position includes managing assigned work scope, schedule, and budget; reviewing design packages with clients; performing planning and customer follow-up; and improving workflows. Engineers coordinate conflicting utilities and field requirements, and may develop complex cable and conduit packages, permits, easements, and right-of-way applications. The role involves both office and field work, including customer-site visits to collect data, and in-person meetings or assignments across Louisiana customer territory as needed. Remote work is possible, but candidates must live within commuting distance of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, or Lafayette. Customer-related travel is reimbursed at IRS-approved rates. Leidos offers a fast-paced, diverse work environment, flexible work hours and arrangements, and opportunities for career development and growth, including support for PE licensure, PMP certification, leadership training, formal mentorship, and management opportunities.
