About The Position
Serv, a global executive recruitment partner, is hiring on behalf of our client Hansen Signs for an Operations Director. Hansen Signs is one of Canada’s fastest-growing sign companies and a leader in innovation, systems, and process within the signage industry. With significant market demand and a strong foundation for growth, Hansen Signs is entering an exciting phase where operational excellence will unlock the company’s next level of scale. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on operations leader to step into a highly visible role with meaningful impact. Working with senior leadership and reporting to the founder, the Operations Director will be responsible for improving production efficiency, strengthening accountability, developing high-performing teams, and building the operational infrastructure required to support continued growth.
Requirements
- Proven operations leadership experience within manufacturing, production, industrial, or similarly complex operational environments
- Experience improving labor utilization, productivity, throughput, and operational efficiency metrics
- Demonstrated success transforming underperforming or inconsistent teams into high-performing, accountable environments
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence teams and inspire others to follow their direction
- Experience implementing operational systems, KPIs, dashboards, and performance measurement tools
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, growing business
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with the confidence to make decisions and take ownership of outcomes
- Experience leading supervisors, production managers, or cross-functional operational teams
- A growth mindset with a passion for building great teams and continuously improving performance

Responsibilities
- Taking full ownership of production operations performance, including labor efficiency, throughput, quality, and delivery outcomes
- Assessing existing workflows and identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce rework, and create scalable processes
- Leading and developing supervisors and production leaders to establish a high-performance, accountability-driven culture
- Building clear expectations, coaching team members toward success, and making difficult performance decisions when necessary
- Working cross-functionally with leadership, accounting, and operational teams to develop meaningful performance dashboards and reporting metrics
- Ensuring the right materials, information, scheduling, and production sequencing are in place to enable efficient execution
- Getting deeply involved in the operation initially to understand challenges, establish trust, and build strong operational foundations
- Providing recommendations around organizational structure, process improvements, and future operational growth opportunities
- Creating a culture where employees embrace challenges, take ownership, and are committed to delivering exceptional work
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives that allow Hansen Signs to increase capacity and capitalize on its strong sales growth
