About The Position
Guggenheim Retail Real Estate Partners is seeking a Director of Construction to manage and oversee all aspects of site and building construction for multiple retail and commercial projects. The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Development and Construction and is based in Frisco, Texas, with on-site reporting required. Local candidates are preferred. Candidates outside the Frisco area may be considered if they are within an hour of a major airport; they will work in a hybrid arrangement, reporting to the Frisco office for most of the first month of training and then at least once a month for two to three days. Travel is approximately 50% of working time. The Director of Construction will manage project construction from permitting through completion, including schedules, contracts and administration, meetings, payment applications, testing, change orders, invoicing, cost management, and closeout documentation. The role also creates preliminary budgets, manages project schedules and reporting through Expesite, coordinates design compliance with lease requirements, and oversees outside consultants. The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $165,000. Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as location and experience. The total compensation package may include additional components such as incentive compensation.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in development and construction of retail or commercial buildings.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, as well as web-based project management software similar to Expesite.

Responsibilities
- Manage construction aspects of all projects, including scheduling from permitting through construction completion.
- Manage construction contracts and administration.
- Hold routine construction meetings on site and off site.
- Review and approve monthly pay applications.
- Manage project testing, change orders, invoicing, cost management, and closeout documentation.
- Create preliminary budgets for all projects.
- Create and manage overall project schedules.
- Work with the Director of Development to ensure site designs—including architectural, civil engineering, landscape design, and signage—meet lease requirements.
- Manage project information and reporting in Expesite, including documentation control, milestones, and cost reporting from permitting through completion.
- Manage outside consultants assigned to projects, including geotechnical consultants, environmental engineers, architects, civil engineers, surveyors, and sign vendors.
- Travel approximately 50% of working time.
