About The Position

GAC Enterprises LLC is seeking a Director of Construction to lead nationwide construction operations across multiple markets, projects, and field teams. The role provides strategic leadership over field operations, project execution, resource planning, and performance, working closely with executive leadership and field management to drive operational excellence. This is a field-focused leadership role with a reporting location in Houston, Texas, or Greensboro, North Carolina. Travel of 10–50% is required as needed to support operational oversight, leadership development, and field operations across the company’s markets. The role requires the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

8–12+ years of telecom or construction experience.
Senior leadership or multi-market operational management experience (required).
Proven experience managing large-scale operational teams and multiple concurrent projects.
Strong understanding of telecom construction operations, project execution, and field management, including underground and aerial construction methods.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience with Fieldwire or similar project management platforms preferred.
OSHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee construction operations across multiple markets and field teams.
Lead, coach, and support Construction Managers, Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and operational leadership.
Develop leadership capacity across the field organization.
Set operational strategies for construction planning, scheduling, staffing, production, and execution.
Monitor project performance, productivity, timelines, quality, and operational KPIs.
Coordinate field resources, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency and project delivery.
Provide leadership on operational risks, escalations, and construction challenges.
Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, OSHA, PPE standards, and applicable regulations.
Support operational forecasting, budgeting, manpower planning, and growth initiatives.
Collaborate with executive leadership on staffing, customer relationships, and company priorities.
