About The Position

The Demand Planning Manager plays a critical role in helping MKB navigate seasonal and cyclical demand patterns, align production and inventory with market needs, and support informed decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand planning or forecasting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of seasonal and cyclical demand patterns, long manufacturing lead times, and capacity-driven operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional planning processes.
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with demand planning platforms such as SAP IBP, APO, Kinaxis, o9, or Blue Yonder; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to multiple facilities, customer sites, and company events.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Analytics, or Business.
  • Experience in industries with cyclical, seasonal, or project-driven demand (e.g., building materials, automotive, durable goods, industrial equipment).
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP or IBF forecasting certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end demand planning process for cyclical product lines, incorporating historical trends, economic indicators, and market intelligence.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical forecasts that account for seasonality, distributor stocking patterns, and macroeconomic cycles.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production, and Procurement to integrate commercial insights and capacity constraints into demand plans.
  • Lead the S&OP / IBP cycle, presenting demand scenarios, risks, assumptions, and trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • Build and enhance forecasting models, tools, and processes to improve visibility and predictability across the business.
  • Monitor and improve forecasting KPIs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop inventory strategies that buffer cyclical fluctuations while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
  • Provide scenario planning to prepare the business for upturns, downturns, and market disruptions.
  • Champion digital tools, data automation, and best practices in forecasting and demand planning.
  • Manage inventory strategies to achieve target turnover, value, and accuracy goals.
