About The Position
The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for turning complex, often unstructured business questions into data-driven decision-support systems and models that drive measurable business impact. This role applies deep analytical expertise and data science judgment, while mentoring others to help the organization make smarter, evidence-based decisions. As part of the Technology & Engineering group, this position drives innovation and operational excellence, enabling seamless digital experiences and supporting growth in a fast-paced ecommerce environment. You will own and deliver decision-support models and systems spanning multiple business domains end-to-end from research through production.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; PhD an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics and data science with a focus on driving business impact.
- Experience building end-to-end data science solutions, from design through deployment.
- Strong understanding of advanced modeling techniques, such as machine learning, nonparametric approaches, and neural networks.
- Solves unstructured problems independently, proposing solutions and methodologies for a specific business area.
- Independently evaluates complex, multi-variable situations where data is conflicting, making high-impact judgments in the absence of perfect information.
- Leads the design of complex, multi-layered solutions for enterprise-wide problems, ensuring technical design is scalable, sustainable, and solves the root business pain point.
- Identifies dependencies and impacts between systems, continuously improving the tools, processes, and techniques the team relies on.
- Follows all organizational security protocols and acts discreetly and professionally with confidential information as a trusted guardian of data integrity within the function.

- Experience with AWS cloud solutions, e-commerce, and web analytics are assets.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and deploy data science models and systems end-to-end, from prototype through production.
- Translate complex analytical results and data patterns into actionable business initiatives and decision-support tools.
- Partner with strategic business stakeholders to provide evidence-based guidance and refine solutions based on their feedback.
- Own the accuracy, performance, and monitoring of the models and decision-support systems you build.
- Mentor other data scientists on best practices and machine learning solution design, and stay current on emerging tools and techniques.
