About The Position

J+M Infrastructure is a Utilities, Site & Civil Contractor specializing in Civil Construction and Site Development Contracting with an emphasis on Utilities and Excavation. We undertake new construction projects involving demolition, clearing, excavation, asphalt paving, concrete work, water mains, sewer, and storm drainage across central and southwest Virginia. We are seeking qualified candidates for our construction sites in Charlottesville and the Lynchburg, VA area. This role requires a team leader responsible for managing project budgets and schedules, overseeing site work, ensuring projects stay on track, and documenting changes and delays. The Project Manager will also be responsible for creating owner change orders and billings, reviewing subcontractor billings and vendor invoices for timely payments, and performing other duties as assigned. This highly motivated individual will need to foster and maintain strong relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors, field employees, and office staff.

Requirements

  • Must be a motivated self-starter
  • Ability to work independently with little/no assistance
  • Must be able to read Plans & Specifications
  • Experience in utilities construction
  • Excellent Customer Interaction skills
  • Experience in the construction industry is required
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must pass drug test/screening
  • Excellent in Excel
  • Strong Computer skills a must

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years of experience preferred, preferably in Virginia
  • Estimating experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage project budgets and schedules
  • Oversee site work and keep projects on schedule
  • Track changes and note delays
  • Create owner change orders and owner billings
  • Review subcontractor billings and vendor invoices for on-time payments
  • Maintain relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors, field employees, and office staff
  • Perform Material & Qty Take-offs
  • Solicit and evaluate Subcontractor and Vendor Quotes
  • Create schedules with manpower & equipment requirements
  • Maintain cost estimating tools including databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications
