New York Tech seeks a Director of Recreation and Head Sprint Football Coach to support our growing intramural and club sports activities and lead the sprint football team in its inaugural season.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus three to four years of effective experience in the coaching field.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and travel as needed.
  • Must maintain current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Organize a comprehensive recruiting program for the New York Tech Sprint Football program in accordance with University and CSFL policies, rules and regulations.
  • Provide coaching, leadership, vision and strategic planning for the Sprint Football program.
  • Perform administrative duties that include equipment purchase and management, travel arrangements, community engagement, game day management, etc.
  • Manage and represent the department at admissions open houses, admitted student events, and other events throughout the year.
  • Develop recruitment strategies and activities to secure players for the team, including attending games, meeting with coaches, and correspond with potential players in a timely way.
  • Develop fundraising programming and opportunities for Sprint football and recreation department.
  • Develop new club and intramural sports programs.
  • Work collaboratively with staff members in carrying out the administrative functions of club sports and intramural programs to ensure their success.
  • Ensure students are in good academic standing, adhere to the Student Code of Conduct, exhibit superior sportsmanship and set the example for a positive environment at all times.
  • Advise staff and team of CSFL rules and policies and ensure the program is following all rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Supervise all games, scrimmages and practices.
  • Interview and recommend for approval, assistant coaching candidates.
  • Maintain accurate academic, recruiting, financial, practice, expense, and meal records. Complete all required paperwork as necessary.
  • Represent the institution at conferences and meetings as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
