About The Position
ADDMAN is seeking a CMM Programmer Operator to join the Quality Team at its Statesville, North Carolina location. The position helps ensure production parts meet customer requirements through the use of CMM equipment and software, and assists with visual and dimensional inspections to verify products meet customer specifications. The role works with engineering, programming, machinists, operators, and management to inspect parts, troubleshoot issues, communicate quality findings, and maintain required documentation. The employee may also train others on CMM operation and perform other duties as assigned or requested. The position is subject to ITAR requirements, which require U.S. person citizenship status. Work takes place in manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment is required. The job description notes exposure to typical plant lighting, ambient temperatures, and manufacturing equipment. The employee must follow safety policies and company hazardous-waste disposal procedures. Employment is at-will.
Requirements
- Meet ITAR requirements for U.S. person citizenship status.
- Have computer skills.
- Be an innovative thinker and self-starter.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency.
- Have good organization and attention to detail.
- Have a two-year technical degree and/or two years of shop-floor machining experience.
- Have two years of shop-floor machining experience and/or six months of quality inspection experience in a machine-shop environment.
- Be able to operate a CMM, choose appropriate tools, and inspect parts with minimal supervision.
- Know GD&T and general blueprint interpretation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with PC-DMIS CMM software.
Responsibilities
- Measure key part characteristics using CMM equipment.
- Perform CMM programming, setup, and analysis of in-process and finished products.
- Work with engineering and programming teams to troubleshoot parts.
- Perform first-piece production inspections and provide feedback.
- Document findings and develop job planning.
- Train others on CMM operation and appropriate methods.
- Check and verify machined component dimensions against blueprints using measuring devices.
- Communicate with machinists, operators, and management to maintain acceptable quality standards.
- Maintain and generate required quality documentation, including inspection and discrepancy reports.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested.
