About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is the delivery of all materials in a safe, timely, and orderly manner that helps ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves operating trucks, loading and unloading materials, handling customer invoices, and assisting with yard and warehouse duties when not on deliveries. The driver must comply with all DOT and Company requirements, maintain the vehicle in a clean and safe manner, and represent the Company in a friendly and helpful manner.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Non-CDL Driver: A current driver's license with a minimum of one year experience driving similar-type delivery vehicles.
  • Class B CDL Driver: A Class B CDL license with a minimum of one year experience driving similar-type delivery vehicles.
  • Class A CDL Driver: A Class A CDL license with a minimum of three years experience driving similar-type delivery vehicles or a minimum of one year experience with documented training from a professional and certified training school or association.
  • Good math and reading skills.
  • Ability to represent the Company in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Comply with all DOT and Company requirements for drivers.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean and safe manner.
  • Report any accidents immediately.

Nice To Haves

  • A basic knowledge of construction and or building materials is helpful.
  • Certification from a professional driving school or association is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all materials in a safe, timely, and orderly manner.
  • Load truck or confirm loading according to pick ticket or invoice.
  • Handle customer invoices accurately.
  • Accomplish credit returns and job site accurately.
  • Ensure no materials leave yard or warehouse without a ticket.
  • Unload materials at customer’s job site safely, neatly and courteously.
  • Log-in before and after each shipment.
  • Ensure all materials are loaded properly to ensure a safe delivery.
  • Maintain daily fuel logs or the IFTA requirements as instructed.
  • Handle all customers with promptness and friendliness.
  • Maneuver safely and within the law, especially with wide loads.
  • Comply with Company safety policy.
  • Pass the Forklift Written Licensing Exam.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area (truck and trailer).
  • Report all safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
  • Assist customers on the yard or in the warehouse when not on deliveries.
  • Pull orders for shipment.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts.
  • Maintain inventory in a neat and logical manner.
  • Be a team player and develop positive working relationships with all personnel.
