About The Position

The Class B Driver transports residents to and from scheduled group activities and individual appointments using a bus, minibus, or van. The role also involves helping residents with everyday tasks and errands, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting, securing mobility equipment for travel, and keeping the vehicle clean and serviced. The position is described as suitable for a semi-retired individual.

Requirements

• Hold a valid, applicable state Passenger Endorsed Class B driver’s license.
• Have a clean driving record and submit a current Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Report.
• Have a high school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Have First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vehicle to designated locations.
• Assist passengers into and out of the vehicle.
• Secure passengers’ wheelchairs, walkers, and other equipment to restraining devices so the equipment is stabilized during the trip.
• Clean and service the vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
