About The Position

Responsible for driving delivery vehicles and/or operating truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. The driver adheres to safety and compliance regulations, delivers undamaged goods on schedule, and provides professional customer service. The role involves driving vehicles weighing more than 26,000 pounds and may include towing vehicles or trailers weighing less than 10,000 pounds. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work is performed within a production environment and may involve temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently and, on occasion, lift and carry up to 200 pounds with assistance. Tasks may involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling, as well as climbing into and out of vehicle cabs, twisting the torso for visibility, and using the arms to operate vehicle controls.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 21 years old.
Valid driver's license and Class B CDL license.
At least 1 year of delivery driving experience.
Pass an MVR report.
Obtain a DOT medical card within five days of a request.
Have fewer than 5 moving violations in the last 5 years.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Ability to read and speak English.

Nice To Haves

2 years of CDL driving experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Load or assist with loading and securing products, materials, or supplies in delivery vehicles.
Deliver customer orders to specified delivery sites.
Maneuver vehicles into loading and unloading positions and ensure vehicles and loading equipment are properly positioned.
Assist customers with safely and accurately unloading materials.
Take precautions to protect products and customers’ property.
Verify order details and maintain delivery logs, including item amounts or weights, mileage, and delivery locations.
Check items against invoices to ensure order accuracy.
Serve as a customer service liaison between the company and site customers; handle concerns and help resolve issues.
Maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and appearance and perform routine safety checks to ensure compliance with company guidelines.
Use handheld devices, except while driving, to comply with DVIR and HOS requirements.
Maintain hours-of-service logs and complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
Perform credit or product-return pickups and related paperwork as needed.
Operate a forklift or non-motorized material-handling equipment to load and unload materials to designated areas.
Follow safety procedures and practices, attend periodic safety meetings as required, and recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
