About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee in Salt Lake City. The trainee will learn to drive a Class B box truck, provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services on a defined route. Safety-Kleen will pay for the employee to obtain a CDL. The role supports the company's environmental, energy, and industrial services and emphasizes safe work practices and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Obtain a CDL B within 180 days of employment; the company will pay for it.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining the CDL B.
Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
Basic computer and math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as applicable to the position.

Nice To Haves

Strong customer service skills.
Commercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL).

Responsibilities

Make health and safety the top priority by following safe work practices, policies, and processes.
Complete scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups on time.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locations.
Complete required documentation and labeling.
Generate and collect customer leads for new products and services.
Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
Follow local, state or provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and applicable local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
Follow company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
