About The Position

Safety-Kleen, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, is hiring a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee in Salt Lake City. The trainee will learn to drive a Class B box truck and provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products and services along a defined route. The company will pay for the employee to obtain a CDL. Safety-Kleen is a provider of environmental, energy, and industrial services across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Requirements

Obtain a Class B CDL within 180 days of employment; training is company-paid.
Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements within 30 days of obtaining the CDL B.
Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity.
Basic computer and math skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, as required by the position.

Nice To Haves

Strong customer service skills.
Commercial route driving experience (Class C or non-CDL).

Responsibilities

Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and prioritize health and safety.
Complete scheduled services, deliveries, and pickups in a timely manner.
Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions at customer locations.
Complete required documentation and labeling.
Generate or collect customer leads for new products and services.
Sell additional products and services to existing accounts.
Follow applicable local, state or provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
Operate vehicles safely in accordance with U.S. DOT and applicable local, state or provincial, and federal requirements.
Follow corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
Follow company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
