About The Position
Kansas City Hyundai is looking for an experienced and driven Used Car Acquisitions Manager to build and lead a high-performing vehicle buying center focused on purchasing 100+ vehicles per month directly from the public, service drive, and private sellers. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who understands the used car market, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to help grow one of the region’s expanding automotive groups.
Requirements
- Extensive used vehicle knowledge and appraisal experience
- Strong understanding of current automotive market conditions and trends
- Excellent communication and phone skills
- Proven leadership and team development abilities
- Ability to work independently and drive results
- High energy, self-motivated, and goal-oriented mindset
Nice To Haves
- Experience with inventory acquisition, desking, or used car operations preferred
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a vehicle acquisition department from the ground up
- Develop strategies to acquire inventory from the street, service drive, and online leads
- Hire, train, and develop a team of buyers and appraisers
- Accurately appraise used vehicles using current market data and trends
- Work closely with sales and service departments to maximize acquisition opportunities
- Maintain strong follow-up and communication with customers
- Monitor auction values, market conditions, and inventory trends daily
- Create processes that drive performance, accountability, and growth
