The City Manager role is a permanent contract position based in New York City, responsible for driving business through sales support, operational policies, training, and stock management, while upholding the highest standards of customer service and brand principles. This role involves collaborating with the HQ team in Paris and representing the Maison locally, as well as managing both the Soho flagship and a concession corner at Bloomingdale's as a unified operation.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in a luxury retail management role.
  • Proven track record of opening or significantly growing a retail location from an early stage.
  • Experience managing multi-door or concession retail environments is a strong advantage.
  • Established client book and local network in the Miami or broader Florida luxury market, or demonstrated ability to build one quickly.
  • Demonstrated experience conceiving and executing profitable client events — both in-store and off-site — with regularity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and store operation applications.
  • Action-oriented; strong drive for results.
  • Ability to motivate others and build effective, complementary teams.
  • Strong service orientation and client focus.
  • Excellent mediating, negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; French a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, train and continuously motivate associates towards achieving and exceeding personal and category sales objectives while applying retail excellence.
  • Demonstrate leadership by playing an active role on the selling floor, coaching and motivating the team.
  • Manage and lead team efforts in clienteling focused on new client acquisition and retention.
  • Analyze and monitor store KPIs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to implement action plans to achieve target KPIs.
  • Perform daily reporting and analysis and identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Analyze performance by category and partner with the Merchandising team to validate action plans in order to drive positive and sustainable growth.
  • Responsible for P&L of the store including overseeing staff and running costs to maintain a healthy bottom line.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate team to perform at their highest potential.
  • Coach the sales team on how to deliver a unique and memorable shopping experience, observing the sales floor and providing feedback accordingly.
  • Manage performance reviews and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Ensure all staff receives monthly, quarterly and annual feedback.
  • Ensure behavior reflects the Jacquemus brand and people values, showing pride, enthusiasm, commitment and initiative.
  • Approve and monitor store schedules.
  • Ensure the integrity of payroll and the payroll process.
  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent; a translatable, pre-existing client book is a strong asset for this role.
  • Identify and cultivate high-potential profiles within the team, with structured development plans and clear career paths.
  • Ensure store visual merchandising standards are met and maintained across all doors.
  • Review sales frequently and take action on visual merchandising to maximise sales.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Partner with Retail Operations to ensure inventory accuracy and shrink rates within company standards by regularly following up on operations and executing initiatives as needed.
  • Lead the opening of the Bloomingdale's Aventura concession corners (Q4): coordinate pre-opening setup, staffing, training and operational readiness in partnership with the regional team.
  • Ensure seamless day-to-day operation of both Bloomingdale's corners post-opening, including inventory management, brand standards compliance and performance reporting.
  • Drive the in-store shift from walk-in customer outreach to meaningful client relationship building, through a robust and proactive client development strategy.
  • Leverage a pre-existing network of local community relationships and cultural connections to introduce the Maison to new client communities in Miami.
  • Propose, develop and host commercially targeted in-store and off-site shopping events, with the ambition to activate at least monthly; events should be locally relevant, brand-consistent and P&L-positive.
  • Maintain competitor market awareness across the Miami luxury retail landscape.
