About The Position

Requirements

• Possesses and maintains current certification for a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
• Must have highly professional verbal and written communication skills, withstand continual deadlines, and concentrate and maintain accuracy in spite of frequent interruptions.
• Knowledge in topics, outlined below, to be attained within (6) six months of employment: Nursing care, Psychiatric disorders, Medical terminology, Familiarity with pharmacology, Demonstration of safe medication administration practices including IM injection, Drawing blood and processing, Crisis intervention, Utilization of electronic health record, Cultural diversity, Trauma Informed Care Principles, Basic clerical skills, Use of standard office equipment, Administration of medical and behavioral health screening tools

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses (including but not limited to urine drug screens, pregnancy tests, blood work) using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments
• Receive or collect, as well as process, samples
• Calculate test results, and log and report results in Avatar and Athena
• Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
• Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
• Monitor lab supplies and order new supplies as needed
• Ensure that all logs, including refrigerator logs, are being monitored and reported appropriately
• Keep up with stock medications and vaccines and ensure that proper logs are kept, as well as making sure any expired medications/vaccines are disposed or properly and are not kept in the lab past the expiration date
• Seek clinical supervision and consultation needs
• Accept and employ suggestions for improvement
• Actively works to enhance clinical skills
• Document in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy
• Documentation shows that forms, notes, logs, and other applicable written information are completed promptly, accurately and updated when appropriate
• Document legibly
• Courteous and respectful attitudes towards consumers, visitors and co-workers
• Treats consumers with care, dignity and respect
• Respect consumer’s privacy and confidentiality
• Is pleasant and cooperative with others
• Assist consumers and visitors as needed
• Promote a professional atmosphere
• Actively participate in Performance Improvement activities
• Actively participate in AltaPointe committees as required
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Access appropriate community resources according to consumer needs
• Follow AltaPointe Policy & Procedures
• Maintain current State certification requirements for renewals (i.e. CEU’s), and attends to required in-services and workshops
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
