About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant works in the FFCHC Urgent Care Clinic in Traverse City, completing clinical and administrative tasks alongside providers to support patient care and smooth clinic operations. The Medical Assistant is the first point of patient care, rooms and prepares patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures, and measures vital signs and other patient-care indicators. The role also includes documenting patient care, such as medical histories and referral requests; performing procedures according to established protocols, including sterile procedure setup and specimen collection; and assisting teammates and providers with day-to-day clinic operations as needed. The listed schedule is full-time, with weekly hours between 16 and 40, between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Medical Assistant through an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
Obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
BLS certification is preferred.
Phlebotomy experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of patient care within the clinic.
Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures.
Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure using manual and automatic methods, as well as other patient-care indicators required by the clinic.
Complete required patient-care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests.
Perform procedures with patients according to established protocols and processes, including sterile procedure setup and specimen collection.
Assist fellow teammates and providers with day-to-day operations as needed to support optimal patient care.
