About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant works in the FFCHC Urgent Care Clinic and completes clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care and smooth clinic operations. Working alongside providers, the Medical Assistant is the first point of patient care, rooms and prepares patients according to clinic-specific checklists and procedures, and records measurements such as weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. The role also includes documenting patient care, including medical histories and referral requests, performing procedures under established protocols, setting up sterile procedures, collecting specimens, and assisting teammates and providers as needed. The position is located at 550 Munson Ave, Traverse City, Michigan. The schedule is full-time, with weekly hours between 16 and 40, between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. A $6,750 sign-on bonus is offered, subject to terms and conditions.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Medical Assistant through an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
BLS certification is preferred.
Experience in phlebotomy is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures.
Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Complete required patient-care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests.
Perform procedures with patients according to established protocols and processes.
Set up sterile procedures and collect specimens.
Assist with day-to-day clinic operations, including supporting teammates and providers as needed.
